Community Resources

We've gathered trusted providers across Colorado Springs and surrounding areas to support you through pregnancy, birth, and beyond. These are people and practices our team knows and recommends.

A note from our team: We gain nothing financially from referring you to any provider on this page. These recommendations come from our experience working alongside these professionals and hearing positive feedback from our clients. Always do your own research and choose providers that feel right for you.

Primary Care & Pediatrics

Finding the right pediatrician before your baby arrives is something we strongly encourage. Some practices require a prenatal visit, and some have specific requirements around the Vitamin K injection.

Marya Eddaifi
Dysfunctional Labor Maneuvers℠

Marya is a former obstetrical nurse who practiced right here at Beginnings Birth Center. Over more than a decade of experience in labor and delivery and soft tissue bodywork, she developed Dysfunctional Labor Maneuvers℠ (DLM) — a unique, evidence-informed approach using fascia release, optimal fetal positioning, and emotional support to help laboring mothers navigate challenging situations naturally.

We encourage all of our families to explore Marya's resources. The DLM App puts gentle, natural labor support techniques right at your fingertips — for long or difficult labors, malpositioned babies, and labor dystocias.

Lip & Tongue Tie Resources

What is Tongue Tie?

Tongue tie (ankyloglossia) is a condition present at birth that restricts the tongue's range of motion due to an unusually short, thick, or tight band of tissue connecting the tongue to the floor of the mouth. It can interfere with breastfeeding, eating, speaking, and swallowing. It tends to run in families.

Symptoms include: difficulty lifting the tongue, trouble sticking it out, notched or heart-shaped tongue tip, and difficulty reaching the upper teeth.

Craniosacral Therapy

We highly recommend craniosacral therapy both before and after lip/tongue tie revision. It helps loosen the muscles and fascia that have tightened due to the tie being present.

Important Guidelines

  • You must take your placenta with you when leaving the birth center — otherwise it will be stored in our freezer.
  • Placentas are regularly disposed of and storage cannot be guaranteed if you request pickup after leaving.
  • If there are significant clinical concerns (resuscitation required, placental abnormalities), encapsulation may not be recommended and the placenta may be sent to UCHealth Laboratory for evaluation.
